Rajarshi Middya: Separating Love From Violence

Twenty year old Rajarshi Middya is an engineering student at the St.Thomas’ College of Engineering and Technology in West Bengal. Rajarshi and his friends have formed a student group to address social issues. “After attending the campaign meetings, I have started to look at things from a different perspective. Things that I thought were personal matters and problems of ‘love’ now seem to be like cases of discrimination. I don’t know what to say. I’m very confused about how to distinguish between love and violence in a relationship. However I haven’t forgotten the responsibility I had undertaken. I have spoken to about 20 people in my college about “Equality in Relationships” by using the leaflet given to me. They all listened and understood what I said. I am still in the process of clearing up my own confusions. I will soon and I hope then I can speak with far more clarity.”
