Bijetri Bose: A Quiet Confidence

Twenty-year-old Bijetri Bose is a student of economics at Jadavpur University in West Bengal. She has attended a series of trainings on gender and violence organised by a campaign ally and has facilitated two events to mobilise 77 Change Makers. She has spoken to a number of friends and classmates about the campaign and motivated many of them to come for events. “The campaign makes me feel good! When I am talking to people I feel very confident. I was always very shy. Becoming confident is the most significant change in me. I stay alone in the city and move about alone. Now that I understand discrimination and violence better - if I face any unwanted situation I know that I don’t need to keep quiet. I can talk to people about it. I know that I have help.”
